Officially our last wedding for 2009. Melanie & Dax were also our last LDS wedding of the year. Lots of fun and believe it or not it was snowing during the reception, in Texas!!
The slideshow of the wedding can be seen here.

Without a doubt, we always have so much fun with bridals. We always allow AT LEAST twice as much time for our bridal sessions than we do for our portrait sessions. Not only because it’s a little more difficult to move around in a wedding dress but also we end up running across awesome locations to shoot. This time we have to express our extreme gratitude to Keller Williams Realty in McKinney for the impromptu use of their amazing and beautiful Adriatica office as one of our backdrops!
This month’s photo comes from Ashley & Jacob’s wedding. This was an image I got right before everyone headed to the reception. It stuck in my mind and I think the combination of the colors combined with the subtlety of the bride and groom being beyond focus in the background made for a striking, memorable image.
We’ve done a few LDS weddings and for a non-Mormon photographer it requires a little bit of working outside the box, literally. Since I am not Mormon I can not enter the temple so my shooting actually starts after the ceremony. It’s more like shooting the smaller, intimate weddings just with a larger (and shorter) reception. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lot of fun and these two were a blast.
I will have to admit that this was our first Mormon (LDS) wedding. Sarah is a beautiful bride and the two of them make for a cute couple. Since it was a Mormon wedding there weren’t the usual ceremony shots but some very nice post ceremony formals and group shots as well as a reception luncheon and a great reception. The ceremony itself and the post ceremony formals and group shots were taken at the Dallas LDS temple with the luncheon and reception at Heritage Ranch in McKinney/Fairview.
