Annie & Tung

October 27, 2007

Now this is a cute couple! We did their engagements at the Arboretum and had a ton of fun. We can’t wait for the wedding, it is going to be a blast!

SuperBlake

October 21, 2007

Every parent has a nickname for their child. Sometimes these names change over time and as the kid gets older. This little one gained the name from his dad early on and it stuck. You know it’s catchy when even the photographer catches it and starts calling him by his nickname.

With portraits it usually takes a few frames before someone gets used to having a camera pointed in their face. With kids it sometimes can take more than just a few. We often plan on the first 10-20 minutes of a shoot will be spent establishing a rapport with our subject or subjects and getting them used to the camera and my movements all around them. Not the case with this little guy. Right out of the gate early this morning the first frame was awesome and SuperBlake continued to “work it” until he finally just got tired of the whole thing. 🙂

Kari & Rodney

October 20, 2007

We did Kari & Rodney’s engagements at the old cotton mill in McKinney. The mill opened in 1910 and ran until it was shut down in 1969. It is definitely one of our favorite places to shoot, especially if we’re in the mood for some old urban style.

Photo of the Month

October 12, 2007

Michelle got to pick last month’s photo, this month, it’s my turn. This one keeps coming back to me as a favorite. It was taken at Christine & Beau’s engagement shoot on October 7th in Deep Ellum. The motion, the texture, the fun. That’s what it’s all about.

Darlene & Scott

October 10, 2007

This was a very casual, intimate family wedding at St. Thomas. The reception was held at a friend’s beautiful house overlooking White Rock lake.

Christine & Beau Engagement

October 7, 2007

Christine & Beau were such a fun couple. I’m so fortunate to be able to shoot people that have such a good connection with each other that I don’t have to solicit smiles. They just come naturally. Christine & Beau picked Deep Ellum as a backdrop for their engagements and we couldn’t have asked for a better shoot. Deep Ellum has such a variety of backgrounds and textures and it’s just plain fun. Some of their shots have become my favorites and I can guarantee that we’ll be back down there soon.
