I guess I really wasn’t surprised when the district announced last night that all of the schools would be closed today due to inclimate weather. I woke up well before sunrise this morning and couldn’t wait for the sun to come up just enough to give me decent light to see what the additional snowfall overnight had brought. The yard which was a mess after yesterday’s snowball fights, snowman building and general horsing around was all fresh and new. In other areas snow like this wouldn’t be much to talk about but for Texas, this is substantial. Last night the single day’s snowfall record was broken and from what I understand I don’t believe we have ever seen this much. We are enjoying it while we can!!

Official Snow Day
February 12, 2010Night Shots in the Snow
February 12, 2010I took the opportunity to take advantage of the combination of the low cloud cover and the snow to get some good night shots. These were all taken around 10:30 PM last night with exposures from between 1 second to 7 seconds. Lots of fun!
Let it snow
February 11, 2010According to local news D/FW International airport has received 9.5 inches of snow at 9pm. That’s blizzard weather by Dallas standards. These were taken this morning, about thirty minutes after the snow had started. I can’t wait to see what it is going to look like tomorrow morning!!
Mobile Ready
February 5, 2010One of the things that has been on my to-do list was to add a theme that allowed folks with mobile devices to view our blog without having to worry about all of the fancy flash and java script messing things up in their mobile browsers. Well, I believe it’s done. Although, like the main site there are still little items that I need/want to fix or change the functionality is there. There’s no need to go to a special URL, it just works. Give it a shot, try it out and let us know what you think! Simply take your mobile device, whatever that may be and go to http://www.mattpeacockphotography.com/blog
Teen Birthday Glamor Shoot
February 5, 2010We had so much fun with this one. The girls started off not really sure about the camera but you could tell that after a while they weren’t too worried about it and just had a good time. It was a birthday present for a 13 year old and we gathered wigs and props for a few weeks before and when it was all said and done they used almost all of them.

Blog’s Fixed
February 5, 2010Yay! Did a TON of digging and optimizing code. Everything, java, php, css, html all of it. Finally got most of everything fixed and working the way it should. There are still a few tiny issues in the background that I need to work on. Mainly stuff that most of you won’t notice but I know it’s there so I have to fix it.
One thing to note, the header images that are cycling…if you can’t see them let me know. Chances are you are running Firefox as your browser in which case you need to insure that you are running the most recent version.
Blog Issues
February 4, 2010I was made aware of some issues with the blog the other day and I have been feverishly working trying to get them fixed. Needless to say if you are using pretty much any version Internet Explorer you are not going to be seeing this. At least not right now because there apparently is an issue with the way the IE is parsing this web page. Now, if you are using Firefox or Chrome or Safari you’re golden. Since I primarily use Firefox and Chrome on a Mac I didn’t immediately notice the issue with IE until someone brought it to my attention. So, while I was digging around I noticed another issue. On some PC’s there is an issue with Java in which the flash header is blocking the drop-down menu items. Again, on a Mac none of these issues show up so it wasn’t immediately apparent. Hopefully I’ll have it fixed soon. Or, everyone can run out and buy a Mac and I won’t have to worry about it, right? :p
